How We Vet Our Installer Network
MCS Certification
Every installer holds a current MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) certificate — a legal requirement to access government grants. We verify certificates quarterly.
Insurance Verified
All network installers hold valid public liability insurance (minimum £2M cover) and professional indemnity insurance. We verify certificates annually.
Review Screening
We screen installers for a minimum 4.3/5 average rating across verified review platforms (Trustpilot, Google, Checkatrade). Poor-performing installers are removed.
Workmanship Warranty
All network installers provide a minimum 2-year workmanship warranty on all installations. We require written evidence of warranty terms before installer approval.
RECC Code of Practice
Network installers follow the Renewable Energy Consumer Code, protecting homeowners from high-pressure selling, misleading quotes, and cancellation penalties.
Local Coverage Verified
We only match you with installers who actively work in your postcode area — not companies who outsource or subcontract work to unknown tradespeople.

What MCS Certification Means
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is a UK-wide quality standard for small-scale renewable energy technologies and installers. MCS certification is a legal requirement for your installer to apply for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (£7,500 heat pump grant) and for you to register for the Smart Export Guarantee (solar export payments).
To achieve and maintain MCS certification, an installer must: pass technical competency assessments, hold appropriate electrical qualifications, carry adequate insurance, maintain complaint resolution procedures, and submit to regular audits of their installations. Approximately 2,800 companies hold active MCS certification in the UK.
Always verify your installer's MCS certificate at mcscertified.com before signing any contract. Using an uncertified installer means no grant access and no SEG eligibility — mistakes that are impossible to reverse retroactively.
