What It Means to Be a Vetted Partner

Every company listed on this page has passed an independent assessment carried out by the HeatPumpsAndSolar.co.uk team. We do not accept self-reported information. We verify each criterion directly from primary sources before any installer joins our partner network, and we conduct periodic re-checks to ensure standards are maintained.

Our Vetting Criteria

MCS Certification

We verify active MCS certification at mcscertified.com before onboarding. MCS certification is a legal requirement for homeowners to access the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (£9,000 heat pump grant) and register for the Smart Export Guarantee (solar export payments). An uncertified installer makes both schemes permanently inaccessible for your installation.

Insurance Verified

All partner installers hold current public liability insurance of at least £2 million and professional indemnity cover. We require evidence of certificates and check renewal dates annually. If a partner allows insurance to lapse, they are removed from the network immediately.

Verified Customer Reviews

We check independent review platforms including Trustpilot, Google Reviews, and Checkatrade. Partners must maintain a minimum aggregate score across verified review sources. We look specifically for patterns of honest advice, post-installation support, and no-pressure sales practices.

RECC Code of Practice

Partner installers must comply with the Renewable Energy Consumer Code, which prohibits high-pressure sales tactics, misleading quotations, and unfair contract terms. RECC membership gives homeowners access to an independent dispute resolution service if anything goes wrong after installation.

Workmanship Warranty

All partner installers provide a minimum two-year workmanship warranty on completed installations, separate from and in addition to manufacturer product warranties on panels, inverters, and battery units. We require written evidence of warranty terms before any installer is admitted to the network.

Operational History

We assess business track record, company registration status, and operational history through Companies House and industry references. We do not list newly formed companies with no installation history regardless of certification status, and we take particular care with companies that have recently rebranded.

Why We Have a Partner Network

HeatPumpsAndSolar.co.uk operates as a free installer-matching service for UK homeowners. Our core service connects any homeowner with vetted local installers across the country. The partner network operates alongside this — it is a small group of companies that have agreed to a deeper, ongoing commercial relationship with us, including commitments on lead response times, quality reporting, and customer feedback loops.

When you request a quote through a partner installer profile on this site, we receive a referral fee from the installer if you proceed to a completed installation. This fee is factored into the installer's standard business operating costs and does not inflate the price you pay — it replaces what they would spend on other forms of marketing. Our business model is aligned with your satisfaction: we are paid nothing if you do not proceed.

How Grants Apply to Partner Installations

Because every partner installer in our network holds active MCS certification, all installations they carry out are eligible for relevant government financial incentives. This includes:

  • Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS): £9,000 off an air source or ground source heat pump installation, applied directly to your installer invoice. Only available through MCS-certified installers.
  • Smart Export Guarantee (SEG): An ongoing income for surplus solar electricity exported to the grid. You can only register for SEG if your solar system was installed by an MCS-certified company and the installation is MCS-registered.
  • 0% VAT on solar installations: All residential solar PV, battery storage, and heat pump installations currently attract 0% VAT until at least 2027. Your partner installer's quote should reflect this.

Commercial Partnership Disclosure

HeatPumpsAndSolar.co.uk is a trading style of Hello Leads Ltd. The installers featured on this page are verified commercial partners. We receive a referral fee when you request a quote and proceed to a completed installation. This does not affect the price you pay. Our vetting standards are applied equally regardless of commercial arrangements, and partners who fail to maintain standards are removed from the network.
